BOLD | SULLEN | TAME | TIMID
bold: confident and courageous.
sul-len: bad-tempered and sulky; gloomy.
tame: not dangerous or frightened of people; domesticated.
tim-id: showing a lack of courage or confidence; easily frightened.
This four-piece collection captures the distinct personalities of cows I have encountered on my travels and in my own backyard. Each piece is drawn in pen and ink on canvas, sold individually or as a set, four expressions, four stories.
Bold was inspired by a striking photo taken during my travels- a confident, stern-faced cow whose presence demanded to be drawn.
Sullen is a quiet soul I passed daily near my home, a cow that always seemed just a bit removed from its surroundings.
Tame celebrates the tender innocence of a baby calf, a symbol of trust and hope in its purest form.
Timid came from a Nebraska farm and a moment that stopped me in my tracks, this beautiful little calf felt like it was waiting to be illustrated.
Each cow brings its own energy to the series, a gentle tribute to the quiet depth found in these often-overlooked creatures.
Un-framed canvas 6" x 6" x 1.5" (x4) | These are the original, handcrafted artwork, not a reproduction.
They can be hung as is or set in a floater frame.
