devenir: a French word that translates to “become” in English. One who differs remarkably from the norm.
 
I captured a photo of this horse in a stable at a local rodeo. A blanket of perfect highlights cast over this beautiful creature in the harsh overhead lighting, making this an ideal subject for a pen and ink illustration. I used a rough canvas to create texture with lows and highs, giving the drawing depth and inorganic edges - not the norm.
